Let’s face it, learning to use cutlery is a struggle. As kids grapple with their grip the food goes flying and mealtimes can become all mess and stress. But this innovative new cutlery from Doddl is changing the way kids learn to eat.
The idea came one day as co-founder Cat was watching her daughter attempt to eat pasta with a fork. The fork slipped and fell to the floor where the handle broke off. To Cat’s surprise, her daughter picked up the head of the fork and continued to eat her pasta with greater success than before. Cat saw an opportunity to improve on the design of children’s cutlery.

Doddl cutlery is ergonomic and intuitive to the way kids use their hands. The clever part is they are still using the same grip that is required for adult cutlery. So when it comes time to upgrade the motor skills are already in place. Now that is some clever cutlery!

While the Doddl prototype is complete and has already won awards for innovative design, this practical product needs some support to get to the manufacturing stage. Doddl are running a Kickstarter to raise funds. All pledges over £13 receive a pre-ordered Doddl cutlery set, which is due to ship out in September 2015.
