Hands up if you are fed up with uneaten sandwiches coming home from school each day, or totally uninspired by making your child’s lunches when you know they will end up in the bin? The product you need could be just around the corner.
With barely six months of schooling behind her, my daughter already rejects most of the lunch options that I put to her. Even leftovers of her favourite meals have come home uneaten, because “I don’t like COLD pasta, Mummy”. Enter the amazing idea from OmieLife, the OmieBox Hot and Cold in 1 Box.
A new twist on the bento-style lunchbox, the OmieBox comes with a fully removable insulated container which keeps food hot or cold, without affecting the temperature of the other compartments. This means you can send your child to school with both a hot meal and fruit in the one container!
The design of the OmieBox is truly ingenious. The removable insulated container is designed to be easy for little hands to open and has a wide, shallow design making it easy to eat from. It has two additional leak proof compartments and an easy to open lid that remains attached, making it simple for younger kids to close back up again and bring home in one piece.
Alas, the OmieBox is yet to be available in stores. Creator Nancy Yen has launched the product on Kickstarter, and it has already surpassed its target to go into production! To be one of the first in the world to receive an OmieBox, you have until August 21, 2014 to pledge to this Kickstarter campaign. Plegdes of US$49 or more will receive one OmieBox, and US$78 will get you two. Postage is currently within the US only, so you will need a freight-forwarder.
